«Our efforts in research and teaching are aimed at optimizing clinical care in dentistry in a multi and inter-disciplinary approach by experts with medical, dental and engineering background.
Our clinic is the only university unit in Switzerland that provides interdisciplinary pain consultations for individuals with complex orofacial pain and myoarthropathies of the masticatory system. Through close cooperation with representatives of related disciplines, we offer therapies based on the biopsychosocial model. Treatments of the masticatory system are offered that are related to systemic diseases (i.e. sleep apnea). This expands cooperation with other dental and medical disciplines.
We also consult patients who suffer from reactions to either reconstruction or implant materials that require a differential diagnosis and provide dental treatments in a minimally invasive fashion.»
